JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a sign language educator at Fjällräven Preschool, you will work closely with teaching educators to create a safe, stimulating, and language-developing environment with a focus on both sign language and written language.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Supporting deaf children pedagogically through sign language and writing throughout the day, in both play and learning.
• Actively working on language development in Swedish sign language as well as in written language.
• Communicating in sign language during gatherings, activities, and teaching situations.
• Collaborating with educators to shape a good and accessible learning environment where lighting and visual factors are an important part.
• Working both in groups and individually, based on the children's needs and conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma and a good ability to communicate in Swedish sign language. You easily create safe and trusting relationships with both children and adults.

As a person, you are attentive and cooperative, and you enjoy working in a team with various professional roles within the preschool. Therefore, we see that you have good communicative skills both in Swedish sign language and in the Swedish language. We place great importance on all educators contributing to children's language development, so good knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in preschool or with children in need of language support.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
